Drew Brees Long Term Contract Will Be Signed Says Saints General Manager

Tom Benson

The General Manager of the New Orleans Saints, Mickey Loomis, recently said that Drew Brees will have a completed contract and owner of the team Tom Benson stated that an extension will be done as well. Loomis said on Friday, at a Saints Hall of Fame event, that nobody wanted to get Brees signed more than he did, but that they were also looking to make the best team possible and have them on the field. In other words, the Saints wanted to get it right.

Brees' last season was extremely impressive, especially in passing, with the single season NFL record set with 5,476 yeards. He also led the league with forty six TD passes. Brees signed as a free agent in 2006 and since then, he has passed for more than 28,300 yards and had two hundred and one touchdowns and ninety three interceptions. His record also includes attendance in five different Pro Bowls and then of course, he took the New Orleans Saints to the Superbowl, the only time that they had visited the Superbowl, and helped them win the game as well.
